Dardanelle - Brightman Flat Area Campgrounds

Hiking, Fishing, Campfires, Star Gazing

Five campgrounds are spread along the Dardanelle - Brightman Flat corridor. All of them are situated close to the South Fork of the Stanislaus River and are guarded over by ancient pines, but each campground has its own unique character. Many families become attached to a particular campground and return to it year after year.

In 2018 the Donnell Fire burned up the South Fork of the Stanislaus River valley, climbing high on mountain slopes and burning along the Highway 108 corridor. Many campgrounds were damaged and a number of buildings at the popular Dardanelle Resort were destroyed. Since then, rebuilding has begun, but the resort will be closed all of 2023 during the rebuilding process. Many trees along the highway survived the fire.
