Dodge Ridge Ski Resort
Dodge Ridge Ski Area is located 33 miles east of Sonora, California, just 3 miles off Highway 108. Dodge Ridge Ski Area is a family-oriented resort with runs designed to match the abilities of everyone from beginners to advanced. Because Dodge Ridge Ski Area is the closest Sierra skiing and snowboarding facility to the San Francisco Bay Area, the resort draws day users as well as those staying overnight in the mountains.
Dodge Ridge Resort Overview
Dodge Ridge Ski Area has a base elevation of 6,600 feet and a summit elevation of 8,200 feet, giving it a vertical drop of 1, 600 feet. The ski and snowboard resort covers an area of 832 acres with 20% designated for beginners, 40% for intermediate runs, and 40% for advanced runs. It also has three free-style terrain parks. Overall, there are 62 different runs. The longest run, Stagecoach, is 2 miles long.

2nd Summit Lift
In 2011 Dodge Ridge opened 2nd Summit with a new Doppelmayr T-Bar Lift accessing expanded terrain. The lift allows skiers to experience longer expert and advanced runs above Granite Bowl.

Dodge Ridge's 12 lifts include 1 quad, 2 triples, 5 doubles, and 4 surface lifts. Typically the resort is open from December through April for skiing and snowboarding, although some years they have opened in early November. The average annual snowfall is from 300 to 500 inches. Dodge Ridge first opened in 1951 and has been a favorite destination for families for 60 years. The Dodge Ridge Ski and Snowboarding School is known as one of the best in the Sierra.

Dodge Ridge Ski Area offers a variety of lesson packages designed to match the abilities of skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities. Private lessons, parent and child lessons, and group lessons are available for ages 4 through adult.

River Otters Run - Dodge Ridge's Snow Tubing and Snowplay
Open Saturdays and Sundays (weather permitting)
Dodge Ridge Resort recently opened a conveyor-lift accessed snow tubing hill and snow play area. Check their website to be sure weather permits the area to be oepn: Dodge Ridge.
Children must be at least 42 inches tall to ride the tubes by themselves. Children between 36 and 42 inches can ride with a parent or guardian. Children under 36 inches in height can enjoy the snow play area with snow tools snow toys provided. Children under 36" to 42" inches must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who has also purchased the appropriate ticket. Those taking the tube hill can ride to the top on an easy-to-use conveyor lift.
Snow Tubing Prices
Dodge Ridge Snow Tubing offers 2-hour tickets for its tubing hill for $30. Access to the snowplay area is $15 for the entire day (ages 3 and under are free). Everyone must have their own wristband to be allowed in the tubing/snow play area, even guardians.
Purchase tickets onsite, first-come, first-served.
Hours: 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM (Sessions begin at 9:30, 11:30, and 1:30)

Current Weather Conditions
Weather conditions at Pinecrest reflect the current conditions for nearby Dodge Ridge Ski Area. Pinecrest is only 4 miles from Dodge Ridge.
Pinecrest is at 5,600 feet of elevation. Dodge Ridge Ski Area, at the base of the slopes (6,600'), is usually about 3 degrees colder than Pinecrest.
The top of the highest lift (8,150') at Dodge Ridge is often about 7 - 10 degrees colder than at Pinecrest.

Summer Activities and Events at Dodge Ridge Resort
A number of activities and events are available at Dodge Ridge over the summer months.
Mountain Yoga - Offered upstairs in the Family Lodge, beginning Memorial Day weekend. Certified and experienced instructors will guide you through yoga sequences that offer modifications for yoga students of all-levels. Both small group and private sessions are available.

Disc Golf - White Thorn 18 Hole Disc Golf Course is set along the mountain beside Motherlode Chairlift 3. Pricing includes all-day use of the chairlift to access the course. The course opens Memorial Day weekend and then continue through summer and fall.

Base Camp Bar + Grill Opens May 28, 2022, for the summer. Enjoy live music on opening weekend, Saturday and Sunday. Also take part in backyard games from the Creekside Lodge.
